Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is banned. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a generally tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent location, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.
The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau gambling den, contains 150 slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are 150 slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that contains many conveniences on top of the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
