Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling den gambling is not legal. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime spot, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is true of many borders.
The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machine games and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel building that features a number of conveniences accompanying the gambling den, which houses 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
