Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which casino gaming is not legal. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; however, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and although visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are means around this, as is correct of many borders.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel complex that contains many comforts in addition to the gambling hall, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
